INSPIRE SUMMER READING

HOW DID YOU INSPIRE YOUR YOUNG LEARNER TO KEEP READING OVER THE SUMMER BREAK?

I just love a good children's book. My favorite children's authors blend rhyme and vivid imagery with just the right amount of "tongue-in-cheekiness" to hold the interests of both adults and children.
Bob Shea, Mo Willems, Ed Emberly, and, of course, Dr. Seuss are some of the favorites in our house. What do you read with your children?
We read to our soon-to-be first grader every day. But, we have him read to us daily as well. We usually have very simple readers with no more than one or two sentences per page for him to read. He also enjoys "reading" some of the longer books, like Dr. Seuss, because he has memorized  many of the passages.
It's great to see our little one grow in his love of reading. How do you inspire your little ones to read?
